Ok i've decided i'm gonna give this a go for the year. Each time i go to the flicks i'll list the movie and rate it out of 10 and a few words.
If i go see the new "Sex In The City" movie i might leave it out just to look cool.
Here goes
"Daybreakers" 7/10 really enjoyable movie with a great look about it but hey i'm a sucker for anything Vampire at the mo.
"Nowhere Boy" 7/10 my kind of film, a true story bit gritty and a bit British !! Couple of Historical moments in there to smile over.
"The Road" 8/10 liked it a lot great mood some super cool cinematography with a haunting soundtrack.
"The Book of Eli" 8/10 LOVED this MOVIE !!!! Loved it mainly for the look of it and Gary Oldmans outfits. Oh and Jenifer Beals looked hot as his blind wife. Top film.
Not my usual cup of tea but a great cinema experience.
"A Prophet" 9/10 woop wooooop now that.. is a f*cking movie!!! Would have given my right arm to have been a stills photographer on this film. Can't wait to see it again and that don't happen often these days.
"Invictus" 6.5/10 now i'm a sucker for a time and place in movies ie Harlem in the 70's Italy in the 50's but South Africa in 95 i'm not so sure :) Had me written all over it this one starring my man Matt Damon and the big man Morgan in this historical tale but i'm not so sure on this. Clint i feel you let me down a little.. like i hardly came out wanting to help sort out a nation like i once wanted to fight everyone in Romford after Rocky 3
Plus the acting felt a bit wooden in places but i guess that's just the accent :)
"The Wolf Man" 5/10 a very forgettable movie for me. "Home alone 2" scared me more. Give me "Sleeping Hollow" any day, better film making.
"The Crazies" 6/10 yeah i watch the odd horror flick gotta keep your hand in with the kids in my game. Some nicely put together moments but worked better in the trailer.
Spent a christmas once with the ex inlaws in a log cabin on the beach made these crazies seem somewhat tame.
Oh and check this if you've not seen it yet and plan to bare this in mind the deputy sheriff could play a body double to Gareth from "The Office" and at the same time a voice double for "Johnny Depp"....fact x
"A Single Man" 9.2/10 Oh ok i get it now that's how you make a movie, cheers Tom
"The lovely bones" 6.5/10 one min i'm watching "One hour photo" the next i'm in a "Care Bear Movie" not for me folks and i'm not sure who it would be for .
"The Green Zone" 5/10 the tag line "Bourne goes epic" sweet jesus!! Dear Matt Damons agent next time you read one of these type of scripts can you make sure his character doesnt get beaten up coz it wont wash with us lot :(
"Shutter Island" 9/10 couldn't have enjoyed it anymore if i tried. Amazing movie!! Should really do a deal on this at the flicks two tickets for £12 so you can see it again the next night !!!!!!!
"The girl with the dragon tattoo" 7.5/10 not sure ive seen a Swedish thriller before nice work keep em coming.
"KICK ASS" 9/10 OMG now that was about the most fun you can have with your clothes on... has to be seen!! i bought popcorn for this one doesn't happen often.. but i chose well i feel x
"Cemetery Junction" 6/10 WANK! Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant are funny on the radio and a pair of real characters. But haven't got it when it comes to writing comedy. The same as "Extras"every gag way too over done, pull it back boys less is more.
"Iron Man 2" 6/10 i had visions of the "Mickey Rourke" character being up there with "Heath Ledger" in the dark night in terms of visual and character but oh no....my guess on this Movie is it was just rushed like most of em.
"Robin Hood" 8.5/10 the trailer put me off way too many Russell Crowe/Ridley Scott type one liners crammed in. But to my delight the movie was a treat, phoned my brother up after and asked him if this really happened?... he said "almost" :)(should have been a history teacher my bro)

I'm with you on "A Single Man" - Tom Ford knows aesthetics. The story was pretty decent too.
