free live gig online...whatever next !!!
*
wont say too much as its all about the music and the ground breaking idea.
I helped film a free live gig for lamplight last Sunday night
the gig was played, filmed and sent out from the legendary white room rehearsal studio in Essex uk.
Linked and pimped to the max across the world wide web during the weeks building up to it.
If my dad was alive today he'd have said "amazing them computers" bless him. And for sure he would have their music playing in his car.. i know that for a fact.
after a little bit of a hitch (:D) at the beginning, everything ran smoothly and was spot on.
The moment it finished for us was really something to behold, i felt privileged to
be in that room and see the look on their faces when we played it back and all the facebook and txt messages started coming through.
What a crazy world we live in :)
Well done boys and a big well done to Rich for what he did on it.
i the words of their manager it looked and sounded the ......!!
If you didn't catch it on the night wack the kettle on or fly round the offie gather your mates rip up the volume and get involved..... lamplight live gig
check their music video here which i also worked on and their myspace. Big things in store for these boys!! trust me... i've seen the txt message;-)
ps if your a band and you'd like this kind of exposure to launch your fame and fortunes get in touch with Rich at lamplight.

to be someone..
I admit I can't keep up with this blog! Need to get me one of those black girl PA types from "Sex and the city"

Lovely little gig last Thursday to celebrate Olly's 23rd birthday, the lead singer of "States of emotion"
Not taking away anything from their tracks as they were amazing including "unsung" and "she cuts shapes" but the highlight of the night for me was Olly's cover of "to be someone" by The Jam.
Was a real moment for me, possible made me question my whole childhood right there on the spot. Reason being i shared a bedroom with my brother split right down the middle, my side "electro" his side "mod" Guess my life was being shaped right there and then. Couldn't tell him that at the time though as we were sharp enemies.
So if your listening bro as for the music "it weren't all bad"
My kinda night though, full acoustic line up including "lamplight" on just before hand. With Mark Watts on form as always (their manager) and James Buckley from the inbetweeners floating about.
Reason for James being there he just featured in the new "States" music video "unsung" check it guys!! what a beauty!! and then buy it... 79p that's all they be x
proper tune!!!! buy it here

he has great potential
*
I saw that a young friend of mine Calvin had great potential with his photos. So without us speaking a word i taught him online a few tricks of the trade over the course of a week, made him get a 30 day trail of photoshop (which has now run out and he's climbing the walls)
Oh how i wished i was at uni just to photograph behind the scenes.
Enjoy....
ps i bumped into him a week later at a gig and he didn't buy me a drink... nice :)

Not had much time lately to just go out and shoot, too busy with all sorts of stuff.
Did a lovely job last weekend though shooting the brochure for the Stratford 2010 olympic development, brief was i had to shoot the cream of the eastend in terms of Art, retail, nightlife, restaurants and general trendiness :)
Must say i had a ball working on it and felt like the brief was made for me, had no good light but i managed to find it...dont ask.
Unfortunately i can't show you any of it for a long while but here's a few randoms from my every day life instead x
"I built you all up there and then let you all down" :)

Some stills of a music video we made summer 09
*
The band "Ja Ja Wunderbar" the song "Steven and his bicycle"
Took a few hours to come up with the idea
couple of days prep
three days to shoots
then a few months to edit.
Its was about the most fun you could have with nothing to spend.
Shortly after these next 3 were taken Steven killed his dad in a freak accident
That one moment of madness insured his destiny , a life on the run !
Powerful moment this one below for me! cant explain how much fun i had that night :)
Big thanks to everyone who made it happen xx
